THE TYNE BRIDGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION 1927
(THE LAST TIME NUFC WON THE LEEGUE!)
Geordieland's most iconic structure, The Tyne Bridge woz opened on this day 90 years ago by King George V and Queen Mary

The workers had ne safety harnesses or high viz jackets in them days and amazingly they walked alang a tightrope of steel rods high above the Tyne, with not a care in the world!
GEORDIE TIGHTROPE WALKERS!

I am proud to say that 'mee dad' woz one of the schoolchildren from Newcasil and Gatesheed, invited to the openin' and who were given the day off school to witness this great event! (he woz 12 years old at the time!)
"MEE DAD'S THERE!---SOMEWHERE!"

Mee dad got a souvenir brochure of this, which he kept and iz stuck in mee loft somewhere? (Must be worth a few bob now!)
"IT'S BREAKTIME LADS!"

THE FINAL PIECE IN THE 'JIGSAW'!

THE TYNE BRIDGE FROM THE NEWCASIL SIDE
