“ HAVE WE GOT A LUCKY CHARM?”
Hull had nevaa lost in the Premyaa Leegue at SJP and they were unbeaten in the 4 Leegue games they had played!—-But not anymore!
It started off SO well and NUFC were 2 goals to the good, with just 6 minutes on the clock!
Forstly, in the 3rd minute, Harvey Barnes threaded a through baall to Joe Willock, who raced forward and fired a great shot just inside the near post at The Leazes End to give us an orly lead! 1-0 to us!
It didn’t take lang to double wor lead, for in the 6th minute Harvey Barnes again threaded a through baall, this time to Lewis Hall, who lashed the baall into the far corner of the goal, with Konstantious Tzolakis (hope av sppelt that reet?) in the Hull goal, nee chance! 2-0 to us!
We were on fire az we laid seige to the visitors goal and in the dying embers of the forst half we had a chance to treble wor lead when Thomas tripped Jacob Murphy in the box and the ref pointed straight to the spot!
Yoane Wissa took the penalty, but the keeper with the unpronounceable name guessed the reet way and dived to hiz right to parry the baall to safety! HT 2-0 to us!
The 2nd half woz a different story, az Hull went on the offensive to try and get back into the game—and after sustained pressure they foond a way through in thec66th minute, when Cho hit a sweet shot that went in off the post, with Horny Hornicek in The Toon goal, well beaten! 2-1 to us!
It woz then like ‘Custer’s last stand’ az the east Yorkshiremen went for the jugular!
They had tons of corners and near misses and looked certain to get an equaliser az the clock ticked doon the seconds!
To say wor goal had a ‘charmed life’ would be the understatement of the year!
The Toon somehow hung on and after 6 minutes of stoppage time, the ref blew for full time, to the relief of the vast majority of the record crowd! (see below)
Attendance:52, 647 a new SJP Premyaa Leegue record attendance by 4, az the club endeavours to add new seats every game!
