CUP SCHEMES DEADLINE LOOMS!

Posted ‘high noon πŸ›Ž️ bells’  Munday 23rd Joon 2025

CAN YOO SPOT THE TWO CATHEDRALS IN THIS PHOTO!?πŸ€”

WARNING!

The deadline for Season Ticket holders to join the 3 cup schemes iz ‘5:00 pm bells πŸ””’ this Friday!

Season ticket holders who DIVVINT join the schemes ARE NOT gaurenteed a ticket for those games and must join the Mags members for ‘a free for aall’ in a lottery to get one!

We understand the concerns of some fans with (say) 2 kids that must pay £120 to watch Champions Leegue futbaall!

Unfortunately, like everything else, prices are gannin through the roof and soon it will be an average of a fiver a pint in The Toon boozers az well!

The Geordie Times haz egg 🍳 on wor faces az we predicted that we would probably get a crowd of under 30,000 for wor pre season friendly v Atletico Madrid, az it woz £25 for an adult ticket—-BUT how wrang we were, az the game iz a complete 52,300 selloot! (For a friendly!)

Talk of the new stadium seems to have vanished from the headlines, but az we aall naa 52,300 iz not big enough now, with the demand for tickets far exceedin wor current capacity!

Hopefully news on that will appear soon—BUT divvint haad yi breath, 😡az we were told that news of a new stadium would be announced 5 months ago, but of course it wozzint!

We will of course bring yoo news of that when we (eventually?) find oot!???

48 GAMES AND COONTIN’!

Posted ‘high noon πŸ•› πŸ”” bells’ Friday 20th Joon 2025

THE CHAMPIONS LEEGUE FINAL WILL BE IN BUDAPEST, WHERE NUFC WON THE INTER CITIES FAIRS CUP IN 1969***A LUCKY OMEN?
“I HAVE A DREAM!😴 “

Includin’ the Premyaa Leegue, the Leegue Cup, the FA Cup and the Champions Leegue, NUFC will play a minimum of 48 games next season!

That’s ANLY if we get knocked oot of the 2 domestic Cup competitions at the forst hurdle—and the Champions Leegue in the group stage!

And if we progress in aall 3 competitions, that total could rise to 67 games! —5 more games in the League Cup if we reach the final—5 more games in the FA Cup if we reach the final—9 more games in the Champions Leegue if we have to qualify for the knockoot roonds and the final via the play offs! (Wishful ‘Finkin’ perhaps?)

For any Toon fan intending to to gan to every game home and away, it will be the most expensive season ever, running into thoosands of poonds (and Euros of course!)

“The MAGical Mystery Tour iz waitin to take us AWAY!”

3 NUFC CUP SCHEMES LAUNCHED FOR 2025-2026

Posted ‘high noon πŸ•› πŸ›Ž️ bells’ Tuezday 17th Joon 2025

The prices for the Champions Leegue, FA Cup and Leegue Cup have been annoonced by NUFC!

The prices vary from £60 for a Category 1,2 or 3 adult home ticket for The Champions Leegue group stage, to just £20 for a Catergory 1,2 or 3 adult Leegue Cup home ticket!

Whether yoo agree or disagree with The Champions Leegue prices, yoo need to remember that The Aston Villians charged £95 for a similar Champions Leegue ticket last season!

The Geordie Times az usual will be signin’ up for aall 3 schemes AND REMEMBER! IF we get to a cup final for example, fans who signed up for those schemes WILL get priority for tickets!

In other news the Premyaa Leegue fixtures for next season will be released tomorrow mornin’ at ‘9:00am bells πŸ””’

And with 270 Premyaa Leegue games to be televised live and with 9 teams in midweek European action, yoo can bet your bottom dollar πŸ’΅ (or poond coin πŸͺ™) that at least 75% of wor games will be moved because of this!

The Fairs Cup celebrations continued from the previous day (see below) when we paraded the coverted silverware aroond St James' Park.

One home made banner made oot of a tatty bed sheet and hand written in black paint summed it up: "IT'S WOR CUP!", the banner proclaimed!

Aa was somewhere in the Centre Paddock that day and it was a very special day for me for it was aalso mee 15th borthday!

It is STILL to this day the best borthday 'present' that a'v ever had!

FAIRS CUP WINNERS!---56th ANNIVORSARY!---TODAY!

Posted 'high noon bells' Wedinzday 11th Joon 2025

On this day 56 ago 'The Toon' won the old Inter Cities Fairs Cup in the Hungarian capital of Budapest by beatin' Ujpest Dozsa 3-2 on the day and 6-2 on aggregate, after wor
3-0 forst leg win a fortneet orlier .

I was still a schoolkid at the time and me and mee mate 'Billy the Skin' listened to the final on a crackly old valve radio in his bedroom of his muthaaz hoose as the game wasn't televised live.

It didn't look 'ower clever' by half time as we were two-nowt doon, but as the 2nd half started, Bobby Moncur vollied in to pull one back and Ujpest just collapsed after that.

Benny Arentoft got wor equaliser soon after  and then Alan Foggon got the winner from a rebounded shot off himsel? as the radio commentator screamed his heed off:"IT'S A GOAL!--IT'S A GOAL!", he shouted at the top of his voice, above the 'crattles' of the radio, and it was 'game ower' as the ref blew the final whistle soon after!

The bedroom floor nearly collapsed as we jumped up and doon on the creakin' floorboards in jubulation, as, (just like the radio commentator) WE shouted at the top of WOR VOICES as well!

We celebrated wor win by runnin' doon nearby Whickham Highway wavin' an NUFC flag and a huge 'Rangers' 'William of Orange banner' depictin' a gadgie wearin' a funny lookin' hat, ridin' a white horse, (would you believe!) which Billy had 'half inched' as a souviner from the policehut at 'The Leazes End', after we'd played and beaten Rangers in the Fairs Cup semi final @ St James Park in May!
(At the time we didn't have a clue aboot the 'significance ' of the sectarian nature of the banner---we were just schoolkids after aall!)

Some very puzzled motorists on the road nearly crashed their cars when they seen us!, but they 'didn't have a clue eetha' just wot we were dein', as we sang and danced and waved the huge banner! (which we could hardly lift as it was so heavy!)
"AAAHHH! BRILLIANT MEMORIES!"
