LAST GAME OF SEASON AT FULIM **** EXTRA TICKETS AVAILABLE! *** AT A PRICE!

"IT'S TIME TO RE-MORTGAGE YOUR HOOSE
IF YOO WANT TO SIT HERE!"

With wor 2nd last away game Brightin sold oot, that leaves wor last away game at Fulim to grab tickets! (70 loyalty points needed---(ie: you must have been to at least 70 away games since the loyalty scheme came in, in the 1990s)

Because of Fulim's relegation 2 weeks ago, they have taken the unusual step and put tickets in their 'neutral section' in 'The Putney End' on general sale!

Toon fans with away tickets in this end will be charged a maximum £30, while those in the neutral section next to the away section will be charged DOUBLE BUBBLE!---That's reet "SIXTY QUID!" (£60) to watch from the same end!!!

Az yoo will probably naa, the maximum away ticket price that any club can charge iz £30 at the moment!----It doesn't bear 'finkin' aboot!
Shud this 'price cap' for away fans not be in place, then we would get 'wor eyes taken oot' by this greedy club!
Just az well they are heedin for 'the abyss' of The Championship once more, after just one season back in The Premyaa Leegue!

MEEENWHILE!
Keep and eye on tooneets Champions Leegue tie between Porto and The Liverbirds, who are 2-0 up from the 1st leg of their qwaataa final tie.
If Liverpoool progress az expected, then wor  home game against them on Sunday 5th May at '4:30 bells' will be changed to the day before, az they will be in semi final action on Tuesday 7th May

SKY want a ridiculous '7:45 bells' kick off (WOT! on a Saturday neet?) and yoo can bet your bottom dollar that they will get their way if this kick off time iz to be beleeeved!
(The game woz originally scheduled for a '3 bells' Saturday kick off until SKY changed it to Sunday for live telly!)

Updated '10:15pm bells'

The Liverbirds won 4-1 in Porto, so wor home game against them will definately be on that Saturday---kick off time at SKY's bequest!😨

NUFC LAST SEASON AT THE AMEX STADIUM

Tooneet 'Ne Where Near Brighton' (their groond iz miles away from Brighton!) play 'The Taffy Noses of Cardiff', in wot iz likely to be a relegation decider!
IF Brighton win then they will be 2 points behind us!
IF Cardiff win they will be 7 points behind us!
IF Brighton lose then Cardiff will anly be 2 points behind them!

In othaa words; IF Cardiff lose then it will be virtually impossible for them to catch US, az they will anly have 4 games left and are 10 points adrift AND we have a much superior goal difference, which iz worth anothaa point!

A draw therefore will be the best result for US az they will both drop 2 points!

NUFC have got to gan to Brighton a week on Saturday for wor penultimate away game!

We are, of course, virtually safe now from relegation to the 'abyss', with 38 points---but not mathematically---yet!
38 GAME SEASON

Updated '9:45pm bells'

IT'S STILL NOT DONE AND DUSTED!

'The Taffy Noses' won 2-0 at Brighton, meenin that they are now 7 points behind NUFC with 4 games to play!
ie: We still need sommik from wor home game against Sooothampton this comin Saturday!😨

THE BASIL BRUSH BRIGADE 0 THE TOON 1 *** PREMYAA LEEGUE 2018-2019

Posted '11:30am bells' Saturday 13th April 2019
THE TOON ON THE ATTACK (2nd half)

"AALMOST THERE!---WE'RE AALMOST THERE!"

Before the game we aall thought that a point would be a great achievement, but realistically we thought that we wouldn't even get that after a poor run of form!
The Foxes of Lestaa (hence: The Basil Brush Brigade!) were on a roll and were odds of favorites to win this Friday neet televised game at The Walkers Stadium (its original name)

'Blondie Alan the Morris Dancer' woz drivin' doon, az we couldn't get back by train coz of the kick off time (how many times have we said that this season!)
Blondie lives in Langley Park where Bobby Roson came from and so we caught the train to Durham station ('me' and Big Al <(not the sheet metal workers son!) where 'Blondie' woz pickin' us up!

It woz then 'onward' to The Regent Club' in Lestaa which iz wor normal 'haunt' when we gan there, for the usual pre match 'gargels'!

After several 'liquid lubrications' it woz time to heed for the tornstiles where ower zelious stewards and 'dibbles' were searchin Toon fans before we were allowed in.
It took absolutleee ages and we just made the kick off after queuin' for 20 minutes!
Aa didn't even have time to gan to 'the tool shed' for a quick 'gypsies' and heeded for mee seat just az the game kicked off!
RONDON ABOOT TO TAKE FREE KICK WHICH HIT THE WOODWORK

The Toon had set up to 'gan for it' az we attacked the far goal from the away fans corner!
Rondon had a great chance orly on when he hit a free kick from just outside the box which rattled the left hand post/bar corner, and went oot of play!

The Basil Brush Brigade then had a chance to equalise but Dubravka in the Toon goal made a great save to deny them!

And then the breakthrough which woz to prove decisive----Almiron's cross into the box woz blocked, but the baall fell nicely to Ritchie, who ran roond the back of their defence and sent a cross in which Perez expertly torned and heeded into the far corner of the net to send the 3,000 plus Geordies wild with delight!

It woz 1-0 at half time and aa rushed to the 'tool shed' to get rid of some of the 'liquid lubrications' which had bee consumed in the club one and a half hours before!

Lestaa came oot for the 2nd half and went straight 'for the jugular' but wor defence held firm az they attacked the far end from us!

Vardy had a great chance to level things when he beat wor defence but hiz shot sailed ower the bar to ironic cheers from the travellin' faithful!
5 nail bitin' minutes of stoppage time were added befor ethe ref finally blew for full time to massive cheers from the Toon contingent!
TOON FANS AND PLAYERS CELEBRATE AFTER THE FINAL WHISTLE!

We are nuw 10 points clear of 'The Taffy Noses' of Cardiff in the last relegation place, with a far suprerior goal difference, which makes it virtually impossible for us to fall through 'The Championship' 'trap door'!

The jorney back up the M1 woz a happy one for a change, havin won wor forst away game of the year (wor 3rd in total!) and we arrived back on Tyneside at '2am bells'!
I then dragged mee lifeless body oot of bed at '8am bells' to gan and watch 9 year old grandson Jamie play for Redheugh Whites against Redheugh Reds!  Jamie scored but 'The Whites' lost 4-2 in front of a 'crowd' of 20 or so!
JAMIE (number 9) IN ACTION FOR 'REDHEUGH WHITES'

Then later on today a'm of to Bishop Auckland where mee fave non leegue team, The Bad Blue Boys of Dunston are playin' in their final Northern Leegue game of the season, havin won the leegue the week before! (Match report (of sorts) on that one tomorrow!

Toon team: Dubravka, Manquillo, Schar, Lascelles, Dummett, Ritchie, Hayden, Ki (Diame 81), Almiron (Atsu 77), Rondon, Perez

Attendance: 32,108 (3,000 (plus) very happy and relived Toon fans!)

* After the match The Leicestershire 'Dibble' Force tweeted this!

And from a Leicester resident!

*FOOTNOTE:
The Bad Blue Boys of Dunston won 3-0 against The Bishop of Auckland!
Bishop's finished 3rd in the Northern Leegue and miss oot on promotion!
Dunston are champions and gan up to 'level 8' in the futbaall pyramid system!

NUFC 13th BEST SUPPORTED CLUB IN THE WORLD! *** 2013-2018

Posted '4:45pm bells' Thorsday 11th April 2019

Amazingly---despite wor constant battles against relegation and mediocrity, NUFC are conformed az the THORTEENTH (13th) best supported futbaall club in the world between 2013 and 2018 and the 3rd best supported in the UK between those years, despite a year in The Championship!

THE BASIL BRUSH BRIGADE V THE TOON *** FRIDAY NEET

Posted '3:55pm bells' Thorsday 11th April 2019

We heed for the delights of Lestaa tomorrow for anothaa live televised game!
To get sommik oot of this game---even a solitary point--would be a bonus, az wor opponents are 'on fire' at the moment under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers, who 'jumped ship' at Celtic to take ower the 'wheel' at the east Midlands club!

Should we lose, then Cardiff will have 2 games in hand with games against othaa relegation candidates Bornley and Brightin, within the next week!
In the unfortunate possibility that they win both, then they would be just ONE solitary point behind us with just 4 games to gan!

Lets hope that doesn't happen and that we can get a positive result tomorrow neet!?

The fact that NUFC are still in danger with so few games left iz a major disappointment.
Of course its aall doon to the money spent in the last 2 transfor windows, that we find worsels in this position yet again under 'The Fat Controller's leadership? (or lack of it!)

A full Geordie Times match report from Lestaa will appear here sometime on Saturday!
Az per usual, "Watch this place!"

LIVERBIRDS IN LIMBO!

Posted '1:47pm bells' Wedinzday 10th April 2019

Wor home game v The Liverbirds haz been pencilled in for Sunday May 5th with a '4:30 bells' kick off for live telly!
HOWEVER! Az the 'Mickey Mousers' beat Porto 2-0 in The Champions Leegue qwaataa final forst leg last neet at Anfeeeld, its looks highly likely that they will progress to the semi final stage, which meeenz that the game will be put back a day, az the semis are on the following Tuesday/Wedinzday!

If it IZ put back, there iz still nee kick off time for this game on the Saturday and it will be played at eethaa '12:30 bells' OR '5:30 bells' for live telly!---we just don't know!?

The 2nd leg of The Champions Leegue game will be played on Wedinzday 17th April---and anly then will we find oot wot day (but not wot time) it will definatly be played on!
Just like Brexit----

(SEE GROUND 338 IN ARCHIVE SECTION)

The draw for the semi finals of The Premyaa Leegue Cup for U23 sides haz been made and NUFC U23s must travel to Leeedz or Guiseley for this 'one off' game!
It will be played on Tuesday 23rd April  at Nethermoor Park, the home of Guiseley FC with a '7 bells' kick off time!

'The NUFC mad-sad groundhoppers' of course have aalready been to Guiseley orlier this year, when we lost 3-1 in front of a 1,000 plus crowd in a group stage game!

THE SEMI FINALS DRAW:
Leeedz U23s v NUFC U23s
Swanzeee U23s v Evaatin U23s or Bleakburn U23s

MEEENWHILE!
Wor U23s have secured a 'play off' place in Premyaa Leegue 2, Division 2 by beatin' Stoke 3-2 away yesterday (Munday), after bein' 0-2 doon.
Goals from Bailey, Toure and Bailey again secured the victory ---aall wor goals comin' in the 2nd half of the 2nd half!

So there iz still a possibility of more new groonds to visit for 'The NUFC mad-sad groundhoppers', before the end of the season, az most clubs of course play their resorve games on non leegue groonds!

LEJEUNE CROCKED!

Posted '1:10pm bells' Munday 8th April 2019

Florian Lejeune iz oot for the rest of the season after sustainin' a bad knee injury when he tackled Andros Townsend near the East Stand touchline on Saturday!
We knew it woz bad when play woz held up for 7 minutes and he woz carried off on a stretcher in the 65th minute!

This iz more bad news for NUFC and their fans az we are still not safe from relegation after the disastrous 1-0 defeat to Cristil Palliss!

This follows on from Sean Longstaff's injury which aalso looks likely to rule him oot for the rest of the season!
