Exciting news reaches The Geordie Times that NUFC have bought a significant part of Leazes Terrace and aall of the listed building that faces the East Stand!
Surely we wouldn’t buy it unless we had plans to eethaa relocate it brick by brick to somewhere like the tennis courts at the back of Leazes Terrace OR move the students oot to accommodation being built on Leazes Park Road, where the old Barker and Stonehouse business woz situated, or forthaa doon the same road to the old Labour Club, which in turn iz to be turned into student accommodation az well!
Leazes Terrace could then be converted into club offices etc and there would be no ‘light issues’ of a much higher East Stand— which in turn could have its facade built in the same style of bricks az Leazes Terrace,to fit in!
More importantly the ‘right to light’ won’t hinder the height of the stand now, az there will be nee objections az NUFC now own it!
The Gallowgate End could be built az a mirror image of The Leazes End, bringing the capacity to 70,000!
Problem solved of movin to Leazes Park!
