West Brom have a 100% record in The Championship this season and are top of the tree, so thiz wozzint gannin to be the walkover many expected!—And so it proved!
The sequence of events were az follows:
NUFC attacked the Leazes goal in the first half!— WBA wore their aall red change strip!
18th minute: A Sean Steur foul, results in a free kick just ootside the box!
19th minute: Isaac Price takes it and hits a sweet shot that went in very near the post, with Toon goalie Jaouen unable to reach it with hiz outstretched arms! 1-0 to them!
27th minute: Nick Waltemade misses goal with a shot, when he should have done better!— Me finx he will not be part of manager Matt Jaissle’s future plans!
38th minute: Amar Dedic crosses the baall and Baz Toure iz in the reet place to hit it from close range with hiz left foot, to level things! HT 1-1
48th minute: A Malik Thaiw cross from a corner finds Harvey Barnes and he fires 🔥 home from close range with a right footed shot at The Gallowgate End! 2-1 to us!
51st minute: Joe Willock misses a great chance to put the game to bed, 🛌 but hiz shot gans high and wide!
57th minute: Dedic haz a great shot blocked by a Baggies defender!
76th minute: Lewis Hall iz judged to have handled the baall in the box and the ref ( Who woz terrible!) points straight to the spot!
77th minute: Price takes it and sends the baall to the right of Jaouen to level things, az the 2,000 Baggie Troosers gan wild, high up in the Gods of The Leazes End! 2-2
80th, 81st and 82nd minutes: Lewis Hall hits the post, Wissa’s shot iz just too high and then Harvey Barnes saves the dreaded penalty shootout scenario by scorin his 2nd goal of the game from a Dedic cross to pull the Baggies troosers doon and hopefully, win the game!
96th minute:Elanga iz pushed doon near the Milburn Stand touchline next to the linesman, but the ref amazingly waves ‘play on’!— to very large protests from the crowd, who boo loudly— and from the player himself!—Seconds later the full time whistle iz blown and NUFC win 3-2!
Attendance: 51,405 (Just below capacity az West Brom could anly sell 2,000 of their 3,500 allocation)
